Italian Cheese
Italy is one of the oldest cheese producers today, Italy produces more than more than 450 types of cheese.
Matured cheeses with a strong aroma, marinated cheeses with spices, cheeses matured in wine, honey, cheeses stuffed with saffron, truffles, butter, ham, cheeses made according to ancient recipes. In the north of Italy, hard cheeses for slicing are made, in central and southern Italy sheep’s cheese, and in the south of Italy soft cheeses, mainly used for pasta, pizza or salads. The best-known Italian cheeses include Parmesan, mozzarella, gorgonzola, ricotta and mascarpone.
